The Meaning of Al-Fatiha

This surah is sometimes known in English as "the Exordium". In various Hadith it is described as "the mother of the Book" (Umm al-Kitab) and "the mother of the Qur'an" (Umm al-Qur'an), and "the cure of diseases" ("Sura-tul-shifa") and said to be the seven verses alluded to in

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ
And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Soorat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. Al-Hijr 15:87

Many Islamic scholars have emphasised the importance of this chapter in their commentaries. The Islamic mandatory prayers require every practicing Muslim in the world to recite Surah Al-Fatiha at least 17 times a day.

Iran to show respond to Dutch anti-Islam

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian authorities plan to post a film on the Internet on Thursday designed as a riposte to a controversial anti-Koran documentary by the far-right Dutch politician, Geert Wilders.

The new documentary, entitled "Beyond Fitna", was directed by a group of Iranian filmmakers and produced by the Islam and Christianity Non-Governmental Organization.

"The film honors all monotheistic religions and gives a response to the anti-Islam propaganda of Western extremists," the NGO's spokesman, Mohammad Karimi, told the Islamic Republic News Agency.

He said the documentary was produced under the supervision of a group of religious scholars and Iranian professional documentarians in the English, Persian, and Arabic languages.

The film will be available on the sites: www.ngoic.com, www.youtube.com, and www.videogoogle.com.

The organization, which is called 'NGO Islam and Christianity' had earlier told FNA that 'Beyond Fitna' deals with incitement of violence in the Bible. Muslims believe that the book deemed holy by Christians today is a distorted version of the original Bible.

'Beyond Fitna' focuses on the orders given to worldwide Christians in the (distorted version of) Bible for stoking violence, committing genocide, attacking others, beheading and burning women and children who have been taken into captivity.

The documentary recycles film clips from crimes committed by extremist Christians under the inspirations of the said Bible teachings, and aims to provide a response to the allegations made by Pope Benedict XVI, who called Islam a religion of violence after misunderstanding certain Organic verses.

'Beyond Fitna' is produced while an overwhelming wave of protest is shown by worldwide Muslim and Christian communities against Wilder's movie.

The 16-minute Dutch film 'Fitna' - an Arabic word meaning 'strife' or 'division among people' - was posted on the UK-based video website Liveleak on March 27, but it sparked worldwide protests even before hitting the Internet.

Wilders' movie is a documentary-style exposé of American trash-journalist Bill O'Reilly's militant calls for violent demonstrations and reprisals against "unbelievers" who dare to oppose his dogma.

After it was posted on the Internet, Iran summoned Dutch Ambassador Radinck van Vollenhoven to protest at the film.

The envoy, for his part, voiced sorrow about the broadcast of the "anti-Islamic" film and emphasized that it was condemned by the Dutch government.

The Dutch government distanced itself from Wilders and said the film in no way reflects the religious policy of the state, a move to prevent the kind of backlash Denmark suffered over Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) cartoons.

Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende said in a televised speech he rejected Wilders' views and was pleased by the initial restrained reactions of Dutch Muslim organizations.

Thousands of Dutch people demonstrated in Amsterdam a few days later to show that Wilders does not represent the whole country.

Dutch exporters have expressed fears of a possible boycott.

Muslim nations, the European Union and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon all expressed outrage over the film, which sparked noisy street protests in many Islamic nations.

The European Union supports the Dutch government's approach and believes the film serves no purpose other than "inflaming hatred," the Slovenian EU presidency said in a statement.

"The European Union and its member states apply the principle of the freedom of speech which is part of our values and traditions. However, it should be exercised in a spirit of respect for religious and other beliefs and convictions."

Australia condemned the Dutch lawmaker's anti-Quran film, with the foreign minister calling it "highly offensive."

Foreign Minister Stephen Smith rejected the film's premise of equating Islam with acts of terror and violence.

"It is an obvious attempt to generate discord between faith communities," Smith said. "I strongly reject the ideas contained in the film and deplore its release."

PART 1

PART 2

Islam to the respond of Fitna

Develop in your heart the feeling of love for the people. As that the civilians are at two categories. They are either your brothers in religion or your brothers in kind.

Islam does not at all admit genocide to expand religion and explisitely rejects cornering people to accept it.
"There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghoot and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower."
Quran surah 2 verse 256

Jihad in Islam is for self defence and repelling the transgression of seditious people.
"And fight in the Way of Allah those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors."
Quran surah 2 verse 190 (This Verse is the first one that was revealed in connection with Jihad, but it was supplemented by another (V.9:36)).

"Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred, (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein, and fight against the Mushrikoon (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) collectively, as they fight against you collectively. But know that Allah is with those who are Al-Muttaqoon"
Quran surah 9 verse 36

Sharia Laws

To Non-Muslims here, Do you think it is ok for you to live under Islamic Sharia Law?

And do you think it is ok for you to have sharia law in your neighborhood.

Note: sharia law is the Islamic laws that includes but not limited to, women takes less than men in inheritance, chopping hand for stealing, 100 lashes if you make sex before marriage, chopping hand and leg in opposite directions if you corrupt the earth, being thrown from a high building or beheaded if you are homosexual. marriage can be conducted even for babies, and sex after pubrty. you ll be stoned to death if you cheat on your wife or husband.

for reference guys: well, go and read the quran and let me know, these there, and it is different from the bible, that Allah in the quran ordered Muslims to carry them out.

here are some whitewashed versions of Islamic sites (to make some dhimmis) trying to defend their punishments, but obviously you can see the err still
http://www.islamreligion.com/articles/25...
http://www.islam4all.com/newpage18.htm

Question from EX-Muslim from YA. Jenova was answer his question and get the best answer for it. But, i dont think nowadays people understand what's the meaning of this Sharia punishments. Actually, this punishment is not that harsh as what you heard from other people all around the world. In Islam, there's no harmful to the human being without any reason. For example, if some stealing just for his own good, his hand will be cut off. So after the people around that saw the punishment, they will afraid to do same mistake as the guy did. It's not as Jenova said "Making people fear the punishment ", it's for people to repent, to realize that stealing is not right, because it's one of big sin. And for that guy, after he repented, thanks to Allah SWT, Alhamdulillah, because he wont received any punishment from Him on the judgement day that is more painful and longer.

This is the answer from shiraz, i think this answer should be the best answer, because no one know the truth behind of Sharia Laws.

If you think having sex before marriage is good, then sure make it in your constitution.
If you think being homosexual is good, go ahead, have a new law for homosexuals.
Stealing a merc from my neighbor is good, I get it for free, I should get some more merc's from the other neighborhood. its nice to have a such fleet of cars.

Well buddy, these are crimes, crimes shouldnt be encouraged. Thats why we have strict laws, they arent harsh.
I dont fear myself being chopped or having lashes, because, I wont commit any sort of crime. Many people say, " I wont live under Sharia law", WHY, because they fear, that they may do such crimes.

btw dude, most of the punishments you mentioned are falsely put up by you.

May Allah help you.

Hizbut Tahrir

The caliph, khilafah or head of state, was often known as Amīr al-Mu'minīn (أمير المؤمنين) "Commander of the Believers", Imam al-Ummah, Imam al-Mu'minīn (إمام المؤمنين), or more colloquially, leader of all the Muslims. Each member state (Sultanate, Wilayah, or Emirate) of the Caliphate had its own governor (Sultan, Wali or Emir). Dar al-Islam (دار الإسلام lit. land of Islam) was referred to as any land under the rule of the caliphate, including a land populated by non-Muslims and land not under rule of the caliphate was referred to as Dar al-Kufr (lit. land of non-Islam), even if its inhabitants were Muslims, because they were not citizens under Islamic law. The first capital of the Caliphate after Prophet Muhammad died was in Medina. At times in Muslim history there have been rival claimant caliphs in different parts of the Islamic world, and divisions between the Shi'a and Sunni parts.

The first four caliphs, celebrated as the Rashidun (Rightly Guided) Caliphs, were Prophet Muhammad's Sahaba (companions); Abu Bakr, then Umar ibn al-Khattab, then Uthman ibn Affan, and the fourth was Ali ibn Abi Talib. Sunni Muslims consider Abu-Bakr to be the first legitimate Caliph, Shi'a consider Ali to have been the first truly legitimate Caliph, although they concede that Ali accepted his predecessors, because he eventually sanctioned Abu-Bakr.

After the first four caliphs, the Caliphate was claimed by the dynasties such as Umayyads, the Abbasids, and the Ottomans, and for relatively short periods by other, competing dynasties in al-Andalus, Northern Africa, and Egypt. Mustafa Kemal officially abolished the last Caliphate, the Ottoman Empire, and founded the Republic of Turkey, in 1924. The Kings of Morocco still label themselves with the title Amīr al-Mu'minīn for Moroccans, but lay no claim to the Caliphate.

Hizbut Tahrir? Did you guys ever heard about it? Or not? Then, if you wants to know the true inside Islam, then watch this 45min movie. Hizbut Tahrir, i just heard about this organization from my friend yesterday. Hizb ut-Tahrir was established in response to the saying of Allah (swt), ((Let there be among you a group that invites to the good, orders what is right and forbids what is evil, and they are those who are successful)) [TMQ 3:104].

Its purpose was to revive the Islamic Ummah from the severe decline that it had reached, and to liberate it from the thoughts, systems and laws of Kufr, as well as the domination and influence of the Kufr states.

It also aims to restore the Islamic Khilafah State so that the ruling by what Allah (SWT) revealed returns. Its aim is to resume the Islamic way of life and to convey the Islamic da'wah to the world. This objective means bringing the Muslims back to living an Islamic way of life in Dar al-Islam and in an Islamic society such that all of life's affairs in society are administered according to the Shari'ah rules, and the viewpoint in it is the halal and the haram under the shade of the Islamic State, which is the Khilafah State.

The Party, as well, aims at the correct revival of the Ummah through enlightened thought. It also strives to bring her back to her previous might and glory such tat she wrests the reins of initiative away from other states and nations, and returns to her rightful place as the first state in the world, as she was in the past, when she governs the world according to the laws of Islam. The system which complete, no one get hurt, to muslims or non-muslims. But why a lot of West countries afraid of khalifah? Watch this movie, and you will understand the life of Islam. It's beautiful. Enjoy.

About Hijabbed?

Why do some non-Muslims (and even some Muslim women) claim Hijaab is only for the Wives of the Prophet (PBUH)?

Yes, it is true. Veiling is commanded in the Qur'an for the Wives of the Prophet (sall'Allahu alayhi wasalam), but is also commanded for his daughters AND the believing women. i.e. Muslim women.

"O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e.screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful."
( سورة الأحزاب , Al-Ahzab, Chapter #33, Verse #59)

So where is their arguement now that the evidence is presented directly?

A lot of arguement bout this topic nowadays. Women now thought they are now "modern era". They even changed the way of true hijabbed by uncover their face, and said "Why should i cover my face?" "I already covered all of my body, why should i cover the face?" "It makes me sweating" and etc. That's how Muslim girls nowaday, whose should we blame too? I got one video made by MMU students. Excelent video. This video really showed types of Muslim girls nowadays. Enjoy the video.

This is the best answer. My sources is http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AktIWdXNFUjUG3XygKi_YHjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070830081111AA2W2Pl&show=7#profile-info-40ce46abc1545d34b4adee5dab73b6c3aa

I follow the Qur'an and the very strong Hadiths. I think the Muslim women might be misguided. My husband always tells me if I have any questions regarding something in Islam to refer to the Qur'an and Hadiths. I personally believe that Niqab is fard and is a direct command from ALLAH(SWT) just as hijab is. The reason I say that Niqab is fard is because there are verses in the Qur'an like the one you mentioned pointing to Niqab and because the wives of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH*) covered everything except the eyes and that the Muslim women should follow the example of the Prophet's(PBUH*) wives since they are the mothers of the believers and they are an example for all the Muslim women.

'A'isha radi Allahu anha used to say: "When (the Verse): 'They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms,' was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces." (Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 6:282)

Narrated 'A'isha radi Allahu anha who said, "The riders would pass us while we were with the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). When they got close to us, we would draw our outer cloak from our heads over our faces. When they passed by, we would uncover our faces.” (Hadith - Recorded by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and ibn Majah, Narrated 'A'isha. [In his work Jilbab al-Marah al-Muslimah, al-Albani states (p. 108) that it is hasan due to corroborating evidence. Also, in a narration from Asma {who was not the wife of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), Asma also covered her face at all times in front of men.)

A'isha radi Allahu anha narrated: "May Allah bestow His Mercy on the first Muhajirat (emigrants). When Allah revealed, '...and draw their Khumur over their Juyubihinna...', they (i.e. the women) tore their material and covered themselves with it."(Sahih Bukhari) Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalanee, who is known as Ameer Al-Mu'mineen in the field of Hadeeth, said that the phrase, "covered themselves", in the above Hadith means that they "covered their faces". [Fath Al-Bari].

A’isha radi Allahu anha says: “(during Hajj in the state of Ihraam) when the male should walk in front of us while in the company of Rasulullah (sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam), then we would drop our veils from the head over the face.”

Ibn Katheer said...

‘Women must not display any part of their beauty and charms to strangers except what cannot possibly be concealed.’

Imam Ghazaali(mentions in his famous book of Fiqh Ihyaal Uloom):

"Woman emerged (during the time of Rasulullah 'saw') with niqabs on their Faces"

Jami'atul Ulema Junbi Africa sate that the proper opinion for the Hanafi madhab is that "A woman must be properly and thoroughly covered in a lose outer cloak which totally conceals her entire body including her face!"

(This from the book Islamic Hijab by Jami'atul Ulema P.12)

It is also state in the Famous books of Fiqh Durrul Mukhtar...

"Young women are prohibited from revealing their faces in the presence of men."

The Mufassireen, such as Al-Qurtubi, site in their Tafseer of the Ayah on Jilbab (Al-Ahzab 33:59), that the Jilbab is: "a cloth which covers the entire body... Ibn 'Abbas and 'Ubaidah As-Salmaani () said that it is to be fully wrapped around the women's body, so that nothing appears but one eye with which she can see." [Tafseer Al-Qurtubi].

Imam Qurtubi in his Al-Jamia li Ahkaamul Qurمn states:

‘All women are in effect covered by the terms of the verse which embraces the Shari'a principle that the whole of a woman is ‘Awrah’ (to be concealed) – her face, body and voice, as mentioned previously. It is not permissible to expose those parts except in the case of need, such as the giving of evidence…’

In Fathul Bari, chapter Hajj, a tradition reported on the authority of A'isha radi Allahu anha says: "A woman in a state of Ihram (during Hajj and Umrah) should stretch her head - cloth over to her face to hide it."

Sheikh ibn Uthaimin ....

“The Islamic hijab is for the women to cover everything that is forbidden for her to expose. That is, she covers everything that she must cover. The first of those bodily parts that she must cover is her face. It is the source of temptation and the source of people desiring her. Therefore, the woman must cover her face in front of those men that are not mahram. As for those of who claim that the Islamic hijab is to cover the head, shoulders, back, feet, shin and forearms while allowing her to uncover her face and hands, this is a very amazing claim. This is because it is well-known that the source of temptation and looking is the face. How can one say that the Shari'a does not allow the exposure of the foot of the woman while it allows her to uncover her face? It is not possible that there could be in the Esteemed, Wise and Noble Shari'a a contradiction. “

Jamaal Zarabozo (a scholar of Islam in the United States)....

“In Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 59, Allah has ordered the believing women to wear a jilbab. A jilbab as defined in all the books of tafseer is a cloak that covers the woman's body from the top of her head to her feet. It is also described in those books, form the scholars of the earliest generation that after that verse was revealed, the women would completely cover themselves, leaving, for example, just one eye exposed so they can see the road. Hence, this is the outer garment of the woman that she must wear when she is in front of men she is not related to. “

What is Islam?

Assalamualaikum wbt

There are two oppinions about "What is Islam?". Some people said it meant "Peace", some said "Submission". Which one is right? I did research about it, but unfortunately i'm not an arabic whose learnt padesh(in russian meant tenses). What i found is, there's two debates. I'm sorry if i took your copyright, but i'll put where i got this info.

1. http://blog.myspace.com/70853719
2. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006030105191

Here the two debate. Let we read bout it.

Islam simply means to achieve peace - peace with God, peace with oneself, and peace with the creations of God - through wholly giving oneself God and accepting His guidance.

Islam means submission not peace...I don't know some guys of Arabic background don't know that!! (:
Islam is from verb "Aslam, Yoslim" and from root "Sal'lama, Yosa'limo", and can be used this verb to mean surrounder. Islam is noun and means submission. Salam means peace, but has no relation to Islam as word.

"ISLAM, AL-

means submission. derived from the root S.L.M. Muslims believe that it is the first religion, from Adam, Noah, Abraham, etc. See also SURRENDER.

Some have also said that Islam means peace, but there is no evidence of such a usage of the word, and Muslims have not substantiated this. Muhammad used to send letters to various rulers of the surrounding countries and tribes, inviting them to surrender to God, and to believe in him as a messenger of God. He always ended his letters with "Aslem, Taslam!", which means "surrender and you will be safe".

See Islam & Peace and Chapter Two of Behind the Veil.

Which one you guys think the very best answer? For me, in my oppinion, i prefered number 2 ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006030105191 ). It's the answer by someone whose using name EX-Muslim. Thanks, maybe you are a muslim, maybe you are not, but, a lot answers you replied in YA showed that you really know a lot about Islam. May Allah SAW bless you, and show you the truth road, insyaAllah. I'll always pray for you.

Drop comments if there's any mistake, because i'm only a human being. Thanks.

Today?

Today? I escape anatomy class because we had guy's talk till 7am. Arghh, im escaped again and summer holiday is around the corner. I hope i can settle down all my exam before the holiday. I'll introduce myself after my chemistry class, i found something intresting about life. I'll talk about it later. Paka (in russian, it's meant good bye). Assalamualaikum wbt
